The first week of March has already gone? Oh my! It has brought some warmer weather here, in Ohio, & it feels great to see the Sun! I've got a couple awesome things to show you and talk about!
This little quilt got finished ......
And this is the proud point one!
I've had Alexander Henry's print laying around, (in reference to the first quilt), for such a long time. I'm so glad I was finally able to use it as a panel piece on the back of the mini 'baby' quilt. And nope we're not expecting, which is what i'm asked when friends see this one:) I'm so proud of my mitered corners and the colors are great!
Going on..... Have any of you checked out the awesome Birchen Quilt? Well, it was a sew along with the Fat Quarter Shop ; complete with a youtube video. Two thumbs up! A couple of weeks ago, my Instagram feed literally exploded with gorgeous variations of this Birchen quilt. In short, I was hooked & ordered the supplies.
I went with Katarina Rocella's gorgeous Recollection fabrics. Also, big news for me, Triangles on a Roll!?!?!? Where have I been? I had no idea that a template existed that could quicken making 90 degree triangle blocks! This is going to be fun! If you're curious about these triangle paper templates, check out Little Luvins awesome tutorial along with the Birchen Quilt youtube video!
And on another beautiful note ~ So excited about this..... Pat Bravo was kind enough to host an awesome Blog Tour featuring her awe-inspiring Etno fabric collection. The stunning prints involve culture, mixed with organic & modern shapes that blend together perfectly. The colors scream fresh & instantaneously enlighten. That's what fabrics should do ~ inspire! And guess what? I'm so happy to mention that I was chosen to partake in all this creative fun! Yahoo!!!! I can't wait to show you all what I'm going to make!
Sooo.... if I'm missing for the next couple of weeks, this is where I'll be, stitching away with some of the most splendid fabrics!
