January Days

Hello friends! I hope that everyone has had an amazing start to the new year! I know that I haven't done much posting, but my mood has been in somewhat of a 'must hibernate' mode. As I write this morning, the family is still sleeping, the dog is laying in front of the wood stove warming up after our walk, and the sun is hitting my cup of coffee just the right way. Everything has put me in the moment to tell you what's been going on. For starters, I've made mention of two quilts that I couldn't show before because they were Christmas gifts. Here is one of them! The second is a duplicate using the same prints, and you can check them out together on my Instagram feed. These simple strips pieced together beautifully. I love that the colors are so warm and my nieces adore them! Makes for a happy sewista:) This was the first time I purchased sheets from the store to use as backing. I mean, who doesn't love flowers and pastels? Even in 7 inches of snow! Happy Trails!

Asheville, North Carolina

"Let's see something new this year. Let's break up our drive down to the beach by stopping in Asheville, North Carolina." ~ "We should visit the Biltmore Estate & town." Ecstatic, I immediately began to plan our itinerary. I love visiting museums & anything that involves the times of yester-year.  Besides, the girls are getting bigger. What could be better than to take them on a historical trip followed by the ocean fun & sun? It was a win win:) I want to start off by letting you all know some great things about Asheville, North Carolina. Located at the foothills of the Blue Ridge & Great Smoky Mountains, this area is packed with things to see & do. The Pisgah National Forest, Grove Park Inn & Spa, Blue Ridge Parkway, Biltmor...
