A Simple to Sew top!

Beautiful Bloodroot found in the woods The weather is finally warming up here in Ohio and all I can say is thank goodness! I was beginning to feel as if mother nature completely forget about our neck of the woods. It was literally an overnight event.... the flowers coming up, tiny leaves appearing on trees, and bugs! I've never been so happy to see insects flying about. The first cut of grass has been done and the sweet smell melted my heart. It's amazing how something so simple has new meaning after a long winter. So what's been going on in the crafty corner? Just the usual - 20 wips and counting. But I did finish this little number! How adorable it that?!? I love browsing ebay and finding really cool vintage patterns. Even though this one was purchased a looooooong time ago , it was finally put to use! The instructions were simple and foolproof. The only thing that threw me off was the seam allowance. But that was altered anyway because I ...

Kissing Fish Quilt

Hello, hello readers! I'm so excited about today's post! And there are so many reasons why! For starters, I want to show you all what's been on the sewing table. Second.... I'm giving you a pattern for my Kissing Fish Quilt!  This is how it came to be... An unorganized sewing room + scraps galore + thinking I need to de-clutter and organize = I forgot I had this fabric..... It would make a cute little project :) Here's how you can make one! All you need are three fabrics! Two coordinating for the fish and a background fabric! For the fish: You will need to make 96 - 2 1/5 inch half square triangles. I did this by using triangles on roll. It's a ton faster than cutting little blocks! Cut the triangles on a roll into 8 block sections. You will need 6. (Each section of 8 will give you 16 hst's x 6 = 96 hst's done very quickly!) Create little blocks by sewing 4 hst's together.  You can personalize your...

Happy July!

Hello friends! Has it really been this long since my last post? Time is flying! There's so much to show you! Today's post is a cross between check out this project & sharing these just because . Super fun & colorful, these pillows are perfect for any space! All you need are twelve 2.5" strips. Separate them in two piles, sewing 6 strips together. If you're using the same fabric twice, keep them all in the same pile just staggering them. If you re-use the same fabric in the other pile, you risk having the same prints next to each other.  Once your rows are sewn, cut 3 inch strips. I didn't take a snapshot of my peach and purple pile but you can see below how I positioned and flipped the strips once they were cut and placed together. I finished them up by adding white fabric to the sides and trimmed away any excess to create a 16 x 16 inch pillow. For the backside I used the fold over method with a contrasting fun owl print...
